Introduction
The Future for Nature Award is a prestigious international award, which celebrates tangible achievements in protecting wild animal and plant species.
The Future for Nature Award aims to:
- Reward and fund individuals for their outstanding efforts in the protection of species of wild flora and fauna
- Stimulate award winners to sustain their dedicated work
- Help winners to raise their profile, extend their professional network and strengthen their funding basis
The Award provides the winners international recognition, financial support and reinforced linkages to an international conservation network.
In addition to the Award amount, all Awardees will receive a small Future for Nature sculpture and a Future for Nature Certificate, summarising the achievements of the Awardees.
Categories
Various categories of Awards are anticipated for the future. There are two categories.
Future for Nature Award
The Future for Nature Award honours creativity, leadership, innovation and entrepreneurship in the field of species protection and conservation. Award winners receive €50.000 and a sculpture as a contribution to their excellent species conservation work.
The Future for Nature Award is not an "end of career" reward. The Award aims to reinforce the conservation work of the winners.
First Category
Two Awards will be given to internationals.
Second Category
One Award will be given to a Dutch speaking candidate.
